MINERAL WEALTH OF ARCHEANS IN INDIA

Archean rocks are undoubtedly the most important mineral-rich formations India has ever seen.In innumerable deposits of metallic minerals and non-metallic minerals are found.

GOLD-QUARTZ:

Gold-containing gold-quartz veins occur in many parts of the peninsula, usually infiltrating as veins in the Dharvarian schist.

The most notable of these are deposits in the Kolar gold field of Mysore where rich veins persist to depths of several thousand feet and are considered to be of high-temperature hydrothermal origin, less important deposits at Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh), Hyderabad, Chhota there are Nagpur.1,02,809 sq km gold in india.

COPPER-ORES:

Copper-ore in the form of copper sulfide. Those found converted to carbonate near the surface are found in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, the main overthrust area of   Singhbhum in Bihar, in Sikkim, and Rajasthan.20,000 sq.km copper in india.

The work of copper ore is being done only in the Singhbhum district. The other incident is not yet fully known.

IRON-ORES:

Very high-grade iron ore (hematite) is found in Chota Nagpur covering several hills of ferruginous quartzites. Orissa and Madhya Pradesh. Hematite ores are also found in southern Bombay and Mysore, while magnetite ores are found in Mysore, Salem.5,135 sq km iron ore in india.

MANGANESE-ORES:

Manganese-ores are associated with gondites and kodurites at Nagpur, Bharandra, Chindwara,  Bilaspur in East Madhya Pradesh, and Panchmahal and Narukote in Balaghat district, in Sundargarh district of Orissa and Vizagpatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.

Inferior ores similar to laterite are found in Mysore, Bellary, Belgaum, Singhbhum, and other places.6,000 sq km manganese ore in india.

CHROMITE-ORES:

CHROMITE

Chromite is found as a vein in some ultra-basic rocks of southern Mysore, Krishna, Keonjhar, and Singhbhum districts. Cobalt ores are found in Nepal and Rajasthan. Although very rarely distributed, distributed, ilmenite and titanizel OUB magnetite in different parts of India. The best source of high-grade ilmenite is the coastal sands of parts of Kerala.

A large variety of gemstones are obtained from the Archaeans. The most important gems from the Mogok region in Burma, as already mentioned, are sapphires in Kashmir: aquamarine in Kashmir, Nepal, and the Shan states.2,690 sq km chromite in india.

The answer to the question of the origin of Archaean rocks is still incomplete. Various modes of origin have been suggested;

a) They are believed to represent the first Earth's crust formed in this part of the globe.

b) They are considered the earliest formed sediments, subject to extreme conditions of metamorphosis.

c) According to another view, these are igneous plutonic rocks that have undergone metamorphosis during subsequent Earth movements.

 overall view :

The oldest rocks (Pre-Cambrian age) (formed about 4 billion years ago).

Rocks are formed by the solidification molten magma. The Earth's surface was very hot then.

Know as basement complexes (they are the oldest and form the basis for the new layer).

Azoic or unfossiliferous.

Leafy (consisting of thin sheets).

Completely crystalline (since they are volcanic in origin).

Plutonic intrusion. (Volcanic rocks are found deep inside).
